About Me

Hi!

My name is Bridget Thebeau. I am 40 years old,  a wife, mommy, registered nurse and Beachbody coach doing my best to live a happy, healthy , fit life and I want to inspire others to do the same. Thank you for visiting my page and I invite you to follow me on my journey. Here is my story!

My story

I remember feeling terrible and not loving my post baby body but my excuses were "i just had a baby", "I'm planning to have another baby so whats the point" , "I don't have the energy to workout" and my favorite..."I had a c-section. I have to be careful" ....while yes that's true to a degree.....I used that excuse for a WHOLE YEAR! Yup, I was full of excuses until I just fed up with being sick and tired all the time.

Fast forward to after my son was born.....

It was May 2013 my son (second child) was 5 months old and I was exhausted and felt defeated all of the time. I was at work one day and completely dragging when I asked a co-worker if I was ever going to feel myself again. She pretty much said NO that this was it especially with 2 little ones. I was simply not happy with that answer. I couldn't go on feeling line this. I was 38 years old , exhausted and 30 lbs overweight. As I was standing there holding my mid-day cup of coffee and a handful of cookies I knew I had to make a change. I simply did not want to go into my 40's depressed and overweight. I also refused to use the excuses that "Well , I just had 2 babies" or " I'm older and my metabolism is slow so I will never lose this weight" or even " I don't have the time or the energy" . Things had to change and I was the ONLY one who could change them.

I decided to start with my diet which was loaded with processed carbs, sugar and fried foods. I cut all those out followed a Paleo type eating plan and lost 10 lbs on a month. All by making small , very do-able changes. Now I needed to add some exercise. I am a runner but between being a wife, mommy and working I just did not have time to go out for a run and to pack everyone up to go to the gym was just daunting and I really dislike the treadmill. I had been one of those people watching the infomercials by Beachbody for Insanity at 3am but thought I just didn't have time or there is no way I can do THAT! . I had always wanted to try P90X but thought it was impossible for someone like me to do. Then T25 came out that July 2013 and it CHANGED my life. 25 minutes a day? A modifier? Everyone has time for that and I can do that. So i found my coach Lori and I joined my first challenge group , "met" some pretty awesome people and never felt like I was going about it alone. I was part of a group of other moms, wives looking to get healthy and lose the baby weight. And you know what? We did! Through changes in diet ,exercise, Shakeology and a little commitment I've lost those 30 lbs, gained healthy muscle and can say that I am in the best shape if my life. I completed T25, P90X3, 21Day Fix, PiYo (PiYo certified instructor) , Combat, 21 Day Fix Extreme and now Insanity AND I'm not done yet. This is truly a lifestyle change and one that is sustainable. One that will last. It's not a quick fix or a fad. There are now magic pills just a little commitment, seat and good old fashioned hard work. But the funny thing is that I don't see it as work anymore. In fact , the days I miss my workouts or don't eat as healthy as i should I feel it and look forward to getting back on track. A true lifestyle change.

My healthy lifestyle will always be a work in progress but I'm having so much fun. I'm happy, healthy, more confident, my cholesterol has improved greatly, I have way more energy and I don't get up in the morning all stiff and feel like I'm 90 anymore. I have gained strength and flexibility. I am also a runner , although I don't get to hit the pavement as much as I'd like, when I do go for a run I am stronger and faster than I ever was. I am no longer plagued with IT band issues and runners knee. All this cross training and strength building has only made me a better, more confident runner.

Beachbody has truly changed my life. Mind, body and soul. I became a coach to pay it forward, keep me accountable and inspire and help other people get started on a journey to a happy, healthy life.
